KIMETSAN Defence Industry Products:
KIMETSAN Chemicals Group has currently 8 companies in the group and 3 of them are in the UK. Kimetsan Chemical, Mining Metallurgical Ind.Co.Ltd.(the mother company) is the first company in the group founded in 1986 and also is the first and only Responsible Care Committed Company in the Central Anatolia. The mother company has 100% domestic capital. Kimetsan is a member of Chemical Manufacturers Association of Turkey and Health Industry Employers' Association. Kimetsan has 12 production groups. In addition, approximately 950 chemicals are ready in stock to be used as raw material in the production or for direct sales. About 117,000 chemical substances are registered in our Data Base.
Kimetsan has Military National Security Clearance, NATO Secret Security Clearance Certificates and also Turkish Defence Industry Production Permit Certificate (Cert.No 2008/7).
1) Military Chemicals and Formulations
Over 1000 chemicals can be supplied for military processes and maintenance operations.
2) Water Borne Industrial and Military Paints (Non-Toxic, Suitable for All VOC-HAPs Regulations):
These products are the most advanced Nano-Tech industrial and military paints and have also Turkish Standardization Institute Cetificate of Conformance to Criteria (TSEK). The products do not contain any toxic substances and many versions are manufactured in the form of ultra matte and glossy versions. Paint types:

KIMETSAN Prime Top paints can be applied directly on rusty surfaces.
Kımetsan Water Borne Paints are one of the 4 products passed Phase 1 Tests of NASA /EC C3P/P2 project tests and are now in Phase 2 Tests.
US Navy works out Kimetsan’s water borne anti-skid paint applications in their system.
Water borne nanotech coating manufacturing and applications also include RAM (Radar Absorbing Material) and RAC (Radar Absorbtive Coatings) products.
In addition, IR thermal camouflage water borne paints are also manufactured (at 3-5 micron and 8-13 micron sizes) in two different colors.
Kimetsan Group also manufactures True Water Borne Nano-Tech C.A.R.C (Chemical Agent Resistive Coating).
From 8 basic colors, approximately 25,000 colors can be produced. About 2000 metallic colors can also be produced by Kimetsan’s Water-Borne Paint Manufacturing division. The opacity and brightness of the paints are determined according to the customer request and kind of surfaces. 100% Color match can be provided by Datacolor DATAMATCH 6000PAINTE System and Datacolor Microflash 200D UV / VIS Spectrophotometer. Paints are applied easily by using brush, roller, spraygun etc. and there is no need for oven processes in this technology. Thinner is water. They are true water-borne paints.

3) Methyl Violet Test Paper (NSC 6640 27 007 6416):
Methyl Violet test papers are used for gunpowder testing purposes. There are not any Carcinogenic or Toxic substances used in the manufacturing steps of this product.
4) DepaIntIng Systems (Chemicals):
Cleaning Solutions and Gels (Ammunition Motors/Spare Parts/Aircraft); Non-toxic water-borne oil and carbon removers, paint removers/strippers productions are performed.
4.1) KIMETSAN WATER BORNE COATINGS REMOVERS/STRIPPERS:
This division manufactures advance water borne paint strippers or paint removers to strip single or two-packed any type solvent (acrylics, poly urethane, poly ester or epoxy etc.) or water borne coatings. Kimetsan Paint Strippers donot contain any harmful or hazardous or restricted chemicals (No chlorinated solvents, petroleum solvents, cyclohexanone, chromates, dimethyl formamide, acids, bases, methyl ethyl ketone / methyl isobutyl ketone / or any ketones, ethanol / methanol / propanol & isomers, butanol & isomers, any aldehydes etc). The strippers do not corrode metals. They generaly safe for other surfaces as well. However tests must be carried out for organic materials contact. The products also do not contain HAPs (Hazardous Air Pollutants), POPs (Persistant Organic Pollutants) or any restricted toxic chemicals.
KIMETSAN coating removers may replace all solvent based coating removers as REACH (Registration Evaluation Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) regulation will limit the usage of restricted chemicals.
The products meets also EPA, EC 552 / 2009, 2005 / 42 / EC VOC and ROHs directives.

This products have approvals from Turkish Air Forces. NASA is one of the customers of these products. The products contain no toxic chemicals and are compatible with REACH and VOC regulations. The products are also used in Space X project.
4.2) ARMAKLEEN / ARM&HAMMER are Hightech products imported from UK and U.S.A. These are well-known products in the United States as the most effective and environmentally friendly products They are currently supplied by Church & Dwight. Carbon and oil removed from the surface quickly by using immersion or spraying methods. 10-15% solution in water gives an ideal result in 1-2 minutes at 60-70 °C. The products does not contain detergents, glycol, alcohol, acids, etc. In addition, the cleaning system does not cause corrosion on the surfaces, because the products do not contain any acid / base products in the formulations. There is no odor problem.

5) Depainting Systems (Equipments):
Ammunition Cleaning System / ARMEX System
It is the most effective, quick, economic and environmentally friendly world-wide known surface preparation, paint stripping, dirt-oil removing system. It is EPA, FDA, USDA, etc. and military standards appropriate system. The system is a pneumatic sytem and utilizes Armex Media for cleaning procedures.
The most suitable models for this system are ARMEX 12SX and 11SX Models. Easy operating conditions, and strength are the advantages for Model 11 SX. For professional use, Model 12SX is preferable and it is more complicated from Model 11 SX but much faster. Both systems are used by Turkisk Armed Forces. The system is a pneumatic sytem and utilizes Armex Media for cleaning procedures.
6) R&D and Laboratory Chemicals
In this divison, Approximately 700 chemical substances are produced and purified. Some of these are absolute ethyl alcohol, absolute methyl alcohol, xylene, toluene, diethyl ether, all kinds of petroleum ether, chloroform, butanol, isopropanol, butyl acetate, acetone, distilled water, methyl ethyl ketone, acids, bases,organic indicators, humidity absorbers, trietanolamine. Each year approximately 40-45 new products are added to the list.
This division also makes the military test kits and papers (for example, methyl violet test paper, NSC 6640 27 007 6416).
This division can meet the need for special requests to produce new R & D and Laboratory Chemicals.
7) CORROSION INHIBITORS (VCI-Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitors and Ammunition Protectors)
Kimetsan is one of the few qualified companies manufacturing specific VCI products (different types for each metal surface and also multi metal versions) in the world.

VCI streches are also produced. In VCI Tablet and VCI Sachet applications there is no need for using VCI streches at the same time as the evaporated VCI adsorbed by the strech film. This is the practical way of the application.
